Rao Sardar Ali Khan Biography:

 

Rao Sardar Ali Khan embarked on his distinguished career after graduating from the 18th Common batch of the Civil Service. Joining the Police Service of Pakistan in 1990 at the age of 25 as an Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP), he began his service with postings in Quetta and Bannu.

Throughout his career, he demonstrated exemplary performance, rising through the ranks to eventually become a Superintendent of Police (SP). He served in various districts of Punjab, including Bahawalpur, Rahim Yar Khan, Chakwal, Faisalabad, Sargodha, and Mianwali. His dedication and competence led to his appointment as Additional Inspector-General (AIG) for Development and Logistics.

Continuing his ascent, he was promoted to Deputy Inspector-General (DIG), assuming pivotal roles such as DIG for Operations in Lahore, City Police Officer (CPO) in Faisalabad, and Regional Police Officer (RPO) in Sargodha and Bahawalpur. Rao also enriched his expertise during his tenure at the Intelligence Bureau for five years.

His service extended beyond national borders, as he contributed to a United Nations mission for eight months and served in Australia for two years. Recognized for his leadership and capability, in April 2020, he was entrusted with leading the Punjab Safe Cities Authority as its Managing Director.

In a significant milestone, in September 2021, Rao Sardar was appointed as the Inspector-General of Punjab Police, the 53rd to hold this esteemed position, after receiving approval from Prime Minister Imran Khan. This appointment underscored his reputation as a capable leader within the force.

Further acknowledging his contributions, in May 2022, Sardar was promoted to Grade 22, a testament to his exceptional service record. However, in July 2022, he was reassigned to the Railway Police as the Inspector General of Railway Police, marking another chapter in his illustrious career.
